F-1 TRANSFER-IN APPLICANT

Transferring to Nobel on an F-1 visa

This page is for students who are already in the United States on an F-1 visa, currently or recently studying at another SEVP-certified school, and who want to continue their education at Nobel University. Because you already have an active SEVIS record and I-20, your move to Nobel is called a SEVIS transfer — it lets you switch schools without leaving the country or paying the SEVIS fee again.

Just arriving from your home country and getting your first I-20? Please use the International Applicant page instead.

What you need to submit

  1. All standard admission and international student documents. These are the same documents required of every international applicant — see the full list on the International Applicant page (passport, proof of English proficiency, financial documents, and so on).
  2. F-1 Student Transfer Eligibility Form. This is how your current school confirms your status and agrees to release your SEVIS record to Nobel.
  3. Copies of your I-20 from every school you have attended.

How the transfer works

  1. Apply and get admitted. Complete your Nobel University application and submit the documents listed above.
  2. Release your SEVIS record. After you are admitted, complete the F-1 Student Transfer Eligibility Form with your current school and agree on a SEVIS transfer/release date. On that date, access to your record moves from your current school to Nobel.
  3. Receive your new I-20. Once your SEVIS record is released to us, Nobel issues your new “transfer pending” I-20 so you can begin your program here.

Good to know: Only one school can hold your SEVIS record at a time, so timing matters — coordinate your transfer date with your current school. The good news: you keep the same SEVIS ID number, you do not pay the $350 SEVIS fee again, and you may stay in the U.S. between programs.
